Ways of communicating have changed . From letter writing, telephoning, texting, emails and WhatsApp , Zoom. All of which make face to face conversations more difficult for couples .The way our organisation mediates has changed . We had as 5 offices throughout Essex but now we mediate online , which our clients find more convenient.

However, reflecting on the issues that we help resolve are in the main still  the same .The time children spend with each parent. How to manage working and parenting. Where are parents and children going to live when Mum and Dad separate  and how to divide the family assets .How are clients going to manage financially when they are separated  Continuing to communicate  in ways that benefits parents  and their children is still the a main issue   throughout the years More recently the courts have encouraged couples to mediate and prefer clients to understand each other’s pension arrangements and share these fairly.
