How can we help?

Civil Partnerships

Same-sex couples can now have their relationships legally recognised in a civil partnership. This means you have the same rights as a married couple if your relationship breaks down.

A civil partnership can be ended by dissolution (similar to divorce). This is a court process, but mediation can be used to reach agreement on financial matters and parenting of children. Mediation offers you the opportunity to work through all the issues involved and to consider various options before making final decisions. The agreements reached are then documented and can be made legally binding as part of your dissolution proceedings.
